What is the purpose of the program?

To have a reduction in offending for individuals and the wider community, and keep young people out of the Justice System by:

  • Raising self-esteem.
  • Develop support mechanisms.
  • Establish cultural identity.
  • Seeking job and education opportunities.
  • Develop transferrable and practical life skills.
  • Build resilience and confidence to break generational cycles and peer pressure.
  • Support to develop and achieve realistic and life changing goals.
  • Alleviate social inequalities through providing education at community events.

What services are provided?

  • Targeted case management for Youth.
  • Support to engage in education or employment.
  • Bush camps.
  • Cultural identity promotion activities.
  • Social inclusion activities.
  • Court attendance support.
  • Referral to support services.

Who can access this service?

Aboriginal Youth from 12 to 25 years of age who have had contact with the Justice System.

Referrals

Referrals will be received from Police, magistrates and the Youth Justice Courts. (Referrals received from other sources that work with youth will be assessed for acceptance).
