Your responses to the key selection criteria questions enable the selection panel to fairly assess your suitability and are used to determine shortlisting for interview.

Step 1 – Request and Read the Position Identification Document
The Position Identification Document (PID) outlines the duties of the role and the knowledge, skills, and experience required.

If your qualifications and experience align with the role, proceed with the next steps.
If have any questions about the position, now is a great time to reach out. The contact person for enquiries regarding the position is always listed in the PID or job advertisement.
Step 2 – Address the Selection Criteria and Screening Questions
Each PID includes a list of Selection Criteria and Screening Questions that must be addressed in your application. These help the selection panel assess your suitability for the role and are used to shortlist candidates for interview.

Step 3 – Prepare your cover letter and update your CV
Write a brief cover letter introducing yourself and highlighting the skills, experience, and values you bring to Centacare.
Update your CV to reflect relevant qualifications and experience for the role.
Step 4 – Submit your application by email
For each position you apply for, submit a separate application that includes:

Step 5 – Shortlisting
The selection panel will assess all applications against the against the selection criteria and role requirements and shortlist applications for interviews.
The selection panel will be made of suitable qualified representatives from Centacare and on occasion where deemed appropriate external stakeholders such as funding bodies.
If you progress through the shortlisting process, you will be contacted for an interview.
If your application is unsuccessful, you will be notified via email.
Feedback is not provided on written applications.
Step 6 – Interviews
If selected for an interview, we will contact you via phone and confirm the details via email.

The selection panel may use various methods to assess your suitability, including practical tests. You will be informed in advance if additional techniques will be used.

Step 7- Next steps
If you are a preferred candidate, reference checks will be conducted.
If successful, you will be contacted by phone and offered the role. On acceptance of the role, our HR team will contact you to collect required documentation, including clearances and qualifications.
Once all documents are received, a start date will be negotiated and your offer confirmed in writing. You will need to accept the offer in writing to finalise your employment.
If you are unsuccessful following an interview, you will be notified via email.
